According to Asomiya Pratidin, a tragic incident occurred in the Uttar Borbil area of the Karbi Anglong district in Assam, India, resulting in the death of a local man. The victim, identified as Harilal Majumdar, was allegedly attacked and killed by his youngest son, Khodiram (also known as Badal) Majumdar, on Saturday evening.

Reports indicate that the incident took place around 7:00 PM near a local temple where the victim was selling vegetables at the weekly market. Authorities state that the suspect used a sharp weapon to inflict fatal injuries on his father before fleeing the scene. The attack caused significant alarm and tension among residents present at the market during the time of the incident.

Local law enforcement from the Howraghat and Uttar Borbil police stations arrived at the scene shortly after being notified. The police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing and have sent the victim's body for a post-mortem examination. As of now, the suspect remains at large, and police efforts to locate and apprehend him are ongoing.
