According to Sambad, Kshirod Kumar of Kalahandi has secured three gold medals at the CBSE East Zone Archery Championship. The event, which was hosted by Vikas Residential School in Bhawanipatna, saw participation from 437 archers representing 11 different states. Kumar achieved his success in the under-19 category, winning gold in both the 40-meter and 30-meter events.

Following this performance, both Kshirod Kumar and Omkar Majhi have qualified for the upcoming CBSE National Archery Championship. The athletes have been training for the past four years under the archery development program supported by Vedanta Aluminium, which has been instrumental in their preparation for regional and national competitions.

This victory highlights the growing talent in regional sports programs within Odisha. The CBSE East Zone championship serves as a critical qualifier for students aiming to compete at the national level, providing a platform for young archers to demonstrate their skills in various distance categories.
