According to Polimer News, three college students were arrested by railway police in Chennai following a violent altercation at the Guindy railway station on July 19. The incident, which reportedly involved students from Nandanam Arts College and Pachaiyappa's College, saw participants brandishing machetes and throwing stones at one another, causing significant alarm among commuters present at the station.

Authorities stated that the confrontation resulted in a head injury to one student from Velachery, who was subsequently transported to the Royapettah Government Hospital for medical treatment. The Mambalam Railway Police registered a case following the incident, identifying the participants as students who had engaged in the clash while allegedly attempting to film content for social media platforms, specifically Instagram Reels.

Police officials have issued a stern warning regarding the dangers of such behavior, emphasizing that the pursuit of social media engagement through public displays of violence carries severe legal consequences.
