According to Polimer News, Vadapalani police in Chennai have arrested a man following a complaint filed by a television actress alleging sexual assault and extortion. The actress reported that she was lured to a location near Sithamur, close to Madurantakam, under the pretext of attending an awards ceremony.

In her complaint, the actress identified two men, Sheikh Muthalif and Suresh Khanna, as the individuals responsible for the incident. She alleged that Sheikh Muthalif sexually assaulted her and recorded the act on video. The victim further stated that the suspects used the recording to threaten her, subsequently stealing 11 sovereigns of gold jewelry and 200,000 rupees in cash.

Following the formal complaint, local police moved to take action against the accused. Authorities have successfully apprehended Sheikh Muthalif in connection with the case. Police are currently conducting an active search for the second suspect, Suresh Khanna, who is alleged to have been complicit in the crime. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
