According to Dharitri, a local BJP leader identified as Fakir Rana was fatally stabbed on Wednesday evening in the Kalahandi district of Odisha. The incident reportedly occurred in the M. Rampur police station area, specifically in the village of Damkarlakhunta. Rana, who was the husband of the local Sarpanch, Snigdha Rana, was attacked by unidentified assailants while returning to his residence near the panchayat office.

Following the attack, family members and relatives discovered Rana in a critical, blood-soaked condition. He was immediately rushed to the M. Rampur hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder. As of now, no arrests have been publicly announced, and the motive behind the attack remains under investigation by the local police.
