According to a report from Dainik Bhaskar, severe weather conditions have caused significant disruption and loss of life across several Indian states. Heavy rainfall and lightning strikes in Bihar and West Bengal resulted in 11 fatalities on Monday, with an additional 14 individuals reported injured. The casualties include seven people from various districts in Bihar and four individuals from Howrah in West Bengal.

In Uttarakhand, the Badrinath Highway was obstructed by a landslide in the Chamoli district. Falling debris and large boulders have halted traffic, leaving approximately 200 passengers stranded since Monday night as authorities work to clear the route. The incident highlights the ongoing challenges posed by the monsoon season in the Himalayan region, where road connectivity is frequently compromised by geological instability.

Meanwhile, parts of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are grappling with urban flooding. In the Haryana districts of Ambala and Jhajjar, heavy overnight rainfall led to severe waterlogging, with water entering local shops and residential areas. Similar conditions were reported in Agra and Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, where significant water accumulation prompted local authorities to declare holidays for schools and disrupted public transport services at major bus stations. Residents in affected areas are being advised to monitor local weather updates as the monsoon continues to impact daily life.
