According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, several Indian states are currently grappling with severe weather conditions as heavy monsoon rains trigger landslides and flooding. In Kerala, the situation has become critical, with authorities reporting eight deaths and eight individuals currently missing. The state government has mobilized emergency response efforts, establishing 209 relief camps that are currently providing shelter to over 5,700 displaced residents.

In Karnataka, a tragic landslide occurred in the Shivamogga district on Sunday morning. Local reports identify the victims as a family of three, including a 35-year-old man, his wife, and their three-year-old son, who were sleeping in their home near a hillside when the incident took place. Meanwhile, in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, a cloudburst in the Chhatroo area caused flash floods that damaged multiple homes and businesses, leading to the closure of schools in Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban as a precautionary measure.

Infrastructure across the region has also been significantly impacted. In Uttarakhand, landslides have disrupted travel on the Yamunotri National Highway, and a 20-meter section of the Badrinath Highway near Gauchar has collapsed, forcing authorities to restrict traffic to a single lane. The India Meteorological Department has issued forecasts indicating that adverse weather conditions are expected to persist through August 7, keeping emergency services on high alert across the affected districts.
