According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, a targeted attack occurred in the Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Friday, resulting in the deaths of two migrant laborers. The victims, identified as 24-year-old Deepak Ratre and 28-year-old Bhupendra, were reportedly working at a local brick kiln when they were approached by assailants who inquired about their identities before opening fire.

Authorities stated that the incident took place in the Kelam area, approximately 20 kilometers from Kulgam. Initial reports suggest that the attackers specifically targeted the two individuals, who were identified as being from the state of Chhattisgarh, while other laborers present at the site were left unharmed. Local witnesses reported hearing multiple rounds of gunfire, prompting an immediate response from security forces.

Following the attack, security personnel cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to locate the perpetrators. Vehicle checkpoints have been established throughout the region as part of the ongoing investigation.
