According to reports from Dainik Bhaskar, several Indian states are currently facing severe disruptions due to ongoing heavy monsoon rainfall, leading to multiple casualties and infrastructure damage. In Kerala, authorities have reported that landslides and flooding have resulted in six deaths, with an additional six individuals remaining missing. To manage the crisis, the state government has established 65 relief camps, providing shelter to approximately 1,465 displaced residents.

In Karnataka, a tragic landslide in the Shivamogga district on Sunday morning claimed the lives of three members of a single family. The victims have been identified as 35-year-old Mallikarjun, his 28-year-old wife Nagaveni, and their three-year-old son, Santosh. The family was reportedly asleep in their home near a hillside when the incident occurred. Meanwhile, in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, a cloudburst in the Chhatroo area of Kishtwar district on Saturday triggered flash floods that damaged numerous homes and shops, swept away vehicles, and left debris across local roads. As a precautionary measure, schools in the Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban districts have been ordered to close.

Further north, infrastructure has been significantly impacted by the weather. A landslide on the Yamunotri National Highway in Uttarkashi has disrupted travel, while a 20-meter section of the Badrinath Highway near Kameda, close to Gauchar in Chamoli, has collapsed, forcing authorities to restrict traffic to a single lane. The India Meteorological Department has issued forecasts indicating that adverse weather conditions are expected to persist across the region through August 7. Local administrations remain on high alert as rescue and clearing operations continue in the affected areas.
