Illegal Firecrackers: ଲାଇସେନ୍ସପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ଦୋକାନରେ ବେଆଇନ ବାଣ ବିକ୍ରି; ପୁଲିସର ଚଢ଼ଉରେ ଖୁଲାସା

According to a report by Sambad, police in the Ganjam district of Odisha conducted raids on two licensed firecracker shops in Chermaria, under the jurisdiction of the Asika police station. The operation was led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sourav Ranjan Pradhan, accompanied by Inspector Sudhir Kumar Sahu and a local police team.

Authorities seized a significant quantity of firecrackers during the inspection. Officials stated that while the shops held valid licenses for the sale of 'green' firecrackers, they were found to be stocking illegal, gunpowder-based fireworks in violation of their permits. Following a complaint filed by Assistant Sub-Inspector Basant Behera, the police have registered two separate cases against the shop owners and issued summons for further investigation.

This enforcement action highlights ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to curb the unauthorized manufacturing and sale of firecrackers in the Asika region, particularly in areas like Nalabanta and surrounding villages, which have historically been associated with such activities. The police continue to monitor compliance with environmental and safety regulations regarding the sale of explosives in the district.
