Wall Collapse Kills ବୃଦ୍ଧ ଦମ୍ପତିଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଭୁଶୁଡ଼ି ପଡ଼ିଲା କାନ୍ଥ, ପତି ମୃତ, ପତ୍ନୀ ଗରୁତର

According to reports from Sambad, a tragic wall collapse in the village of Nayakpada, located within the Ulunda block of Odisha, has resulted in one fatality and one serious injury. The incident occurred during the afternoon when a residential wall suddenly collapsed while the occupants were inside.

The victims have been identified as 72-year-old Sadananda Nayak and his 65-year-old wife, Premsila Nayak. Both individuals were reportedly sleeping when the structure gave way, trapping them beneath the debris. Local residents alerted the fire services immediately following the collapse.

Personnel from the Sonepur fire station arrived at the scene to conduct a rescue operation. Both individuals were extracted from the rubble and transported to the district headquarters hospital for urgent medical treatment. While Sadananda Nayak succumbed to his injuries, his wife remains under medical care for her injuries. Local authorities are expected to investigate the structural integrity of the home to determine the cause of the collapse.
