13,628 violators of residency, labor and border security laws arrested in a week

According to the Saudi Gazette, the Saudi Ministry of Interior announced that security forces arrested 13,628 individuals for violating residency, labor, and border security laws during a one-week period. The inspections, which took place between September 17 and September 23, were conducted as part of a nationwide effort to ensure compliance with the Kingdom's regulatory frameworks.

The breakdown of the arrests includes 6,593 individuals for violating the Residency Law, 3,531 for violating the Border Security Law, and 3,504 for violating the Labor Law. Additionally, authorities reported that 1,197 people were apprehended while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom illegally. Of those attempting to enter, 36 percent were identified as Yemeni nationals and 63 percent as Ethiopian nationals, with the remaining one percent comprised of other nationalities. A further 27 individuals were detained while attempting to exit the Kingdom illegally.

Following the enforcement actions, the Ministry confirmed that 12,628 illegal residents have already been deported. Furthermore, 18,549 violators have been referred to their respective diplomatic missions to facilitate the issuance of necessary travel documents, while 3,815 individuals are currently being processed for travel arrangements. These operations are part of ongoing, systematic joint inspections carried out by various government agencies to maintain security and enforce labor market regulations across the country.
