According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, Kashmiri Pandit employees working under the Prime Minister's employment package in Jammu and Kashmir have reported receiving a series of threatening letters. The report alleges that an organization calling itself the United Liberation Council (ULC), said to be affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, has issued six such warnings within the past month. The threats reportedly contain specific personal details, including phone numbers, residential addresses, and vehicle information of the targeted employees.

The All PM Package Employees Association has reportedly appealed to the Prime Minister’s Office and the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, seeking an urgent investigation and enhanced security measures. The report states that the threats have caused significant distress, leading some employees to cease attending their offices, while others have returned to Jammu. The letters and posters have allegedly been discovered in various locations, including on walls near residential colonies.

One of the primary areas of concern is the Sheikhupura colony, located near the Budgam district headquarters, which houses approximately 330 Kashmiri Pandit families. Residents describe living in a state of constant fear behind the 12-foot-high boundary walls of the transit camp. Local authorities have not yet issued a formal statement regarding the specific claims of the ULC, but the situation highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by minority employees in the region as they navigate the complexities of working in high-security zones.
