According to Sambad, the Directorate of Horticulture in Odisha organized a large-scale awareness and outreach program across all districts of the state on the occasion of Teacher's Day. The initiative aimed to provide youth with practical technical knowledge and enhance their prospects in self-employment within the agricultural sector.

More than 26,900 students from over 220 colleges participated in the event. Officials from the Horticulture and Agriculture departments engaged directly with the students to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical farming techniques, encouraging the next generation to consider modern horticulture as a viable career path.

The program is part of a broader state effort to modernize agricultural practices and foster entrepreneurship among students. By facilitating direct interaction between government experts and the student body, the Directorate of Horticulture seeks to promote sustainable farming methods and improve the overall agricultural output of the region.
