Al Baha cycling tour completes third stage across mountain routes

According to the Saudi Gazette, the third stage of the Al Baha Cycling Tour concluded this past Saturday, drawing over 130 participants to the region's challenging mountain terrain. The five-stage event is held under the patronage of Al Baha Emir Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud and is supervised by the Ministry of Sport's local branch.

The third stage saw riders navigate through Al Baha city and the governorates of Al Mandaq, Al Makhwah, and Bani Hassan. The route was specifically selected to highlight the region's diverse geography, ranging from high-altitude mountain passes to panoramic landscapes. Organizers noted that the tour, which spans more than 370 kilometers in total, is designed to integrate competitive professional cycling with the promotion of local heritage and tourism.

This event is a key component of the Al Baha Summer 2026 program, an initiative aimed at fostering sports tourism and encouraging healthier, more active lifestyles among residents and visitors. By utilizing the region's moderate climate and varied topography, officials hope to establish Al Baha as a premier destination for outdoor athletic events.
