Al-Maliki: Maritime Coalition protects sea lanes and global economy

According to the Saudi Gazette, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, has reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to maritime security and the protection of global trade routes. Speaking on the role of the Multinational Maritime Defense Coalition, Al-Maliki emphasized that the initiative represents a unified international effort to address emerging threats to navigation in the Red Sea and surrounding waters.

Al-Maliki stated that the coalition reflects a shared understanding among participating nations regarding the scale of risks facing the global economy. He asserted that every country maintains the sovereign right to implement necessary military or political measures to safeguard its national interests and ensure the safety of maritime corridors. This announcement follows the recent formalization of a joint defense agreement between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, which aims to strengthen regional security cooperation.

The spokesperson highlighted that Saudi Arabia continues to coordinate closely with neighboring countries bordering the Red Sea to enhance security protocols. Drawing on the experience gained through the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, Al-Maliki noted that the Kingdom has made significant strides in neutralizing maritime threats. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to maintain stability in one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, ensuring that international shipping remains unhindered by regional volatility.
