Apple seeks settlement talks with Epic Games in new court filing

According to a recent report by 9to5Mac, Apple has signaled a potential shift in its legal strategy regarding its long-running dispute with Epic Games. In a new court filing, the technology giant indicated a willingness to engage in settlement talks, marking a notable development in the high-profile antitrust litigation that has spanned several years.

In addition to the overture regarding settlement discussions, Apple submitted a formal proposal outlining a new commission structure for digital purchases made outside of the App Store’s In-App Purchase (IAP) system within the United States. This move follows various court rulings that have pressured the company to adjust its restrictive payment policies on the iOS platform.

The legal battle, which began in 2020, centers on Epic Games' allegations that Apple’s App Store policies constitute anti-competitive behavior.
