According to Asomiya Pratidin, the flood situation in the Indian state of Assam remains critical, with the total death toll reaching 100. The latest figures from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority indicate that two additional fatalities occurred within the last 24 hours in the Golaghat and Karbi Anglong districts due to drowning.

Currently, more than 137,000 people across seven districts remain affected by the ongoing deluge. The most severely impacted regions include Golaghat, which accounts for approximately 70,000 of the affected individuals, followed by Sivasagar with 40,000, and Jorhat with over 16,000. Other districts currently grappling with floodwaters include Charaideo, Darrang, Karbi Anglong, and Nagaon.

While officials noted that the overall situation has shown slight improvement compared to Saturday, when approximately 150,000 people across eight districts were impacted, the state remains on high alert. Authorities continue to monitor water levels and provide relief assistance to displaced residents as the region navigates the peak of the monsoon season.
