The carcass was reportedly located by patrolling staff near the Jatiyani camp in the reserve's core area on the evening of August 6, 2026.

Preliminary post-mortem examinations have not revealed any immediate signs of external trauma, prompting officials to send biological samples for laboratory analysis to determine the exact cause of death. The incident has raised concerns among environmentalists and wildlife experts regarding the safety of the tiger population within the reserve, particularly in light of recent reports concerning the illegal trade of tiger skins in the region.
