According to the regional news outlet Vijayavani, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) district unit held a protest at Ashok Circle in Koppal, Karnataka, on Tuesday to demand improved infrastructure at the local government boys' pre-university (PU) college. The demonstrators submitted a formal memorandum to the deputy tahsildar, Gavasiddappa Mannur, outlining several concerns regarding the facility.

Protesters highlighted that approximately 80 percent of the students at the institution commute from rural areas to pursue their education. They argued that the current lack of basic amenities hinders the academic and overall development of the student body. Among the specific demands listed in the memorandum are the demolition of dilapidated buildings on campus, the construction of a well-equipped sports ground, and the appointment of dedicated sports instructors.

Furthermore, the ABVP representatives called for the installation and regular maintenance of a clean drinking water facility. To ensure student safety, the group requested the deployment of security personnel at the main gate and the heightening of the college's compound wall. The memorandum also proposed the establishment of an NCC unit to foster leadership and discipline among students. The protesters urged local authorities to conduct a site inspection and release the necessary funds to address these infrastructure gaps.
