According to Public TV, the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has issued a set of mandatory safety guidelines for organizers and associations planning to host Ganeshotsava celebrations within its jurisdiction. The directive aims to ensure public safety and prevent electrical hazards during the festival, which involves the installation of temporary structures and public gatherings.

BESCOM Managing Director Dr. N. Shivashankar stated that the utility company has instructed its field officers to coordinate closely with local authorities to facilitate temporary power connections for organizers. The guidelines emphasize that safety protocols must be strictly adhered to before any electricity is supplied, ensuring that all temporary wiring and installations meet safety standards to avoid accidents during the festivities and subsequent immersion processions.

Organizers are required to follow specific safety measures, including the use of authorized electrical contractors and ensuring that all temporary connections are properly grounded. BESCOM officials have been directed to process applications for temporary power without delay, provided that the safety requirements are met.
