Former Karnataka minister and senior Congress leader Ramanath Rai addressed a press conference at the Dakshina Kannada District Congress office on Wednesday, outlining the party's focus on development. During the briefing, Rai contrasted the Congress party's platform with that of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that while the BJP prioritizes electoral strategy, the Congress remains committed to the development of marginalized communities.

Rai highlighted the party's historical commitment to supporting vulnerable sections of society, specifically referencing the Koraga community. He noted that previous initiatives, such as those led by former Social Welfare Minister Anjaneya, were instrumental in improving living conditions within Koraga colonies. He further emphasized that the current Congress government, led by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, is committed to addressing the remaining grievances and infrastructure needs of these communities.

In addition to social welfare, Rai addressed the ongoing issue of 'DC Manna' land, which involves the regularization of land grants for landless individuals. He stated that the Congress party had included resolutions for these land issues in its election manifesto and urged the current administration to take concrete steps toward fulfilling those promises.
