According to a report by Sambad, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has seen a concerning rise in suicide cases among its personnel. Official data cited by the outlet indicates that 59 CRPF personnel died by suicide in 2025, marking the highest annual figure recorded over the past five years. The report further notes that more than 80 percent of those who took their own lives held the rank of constable.

Data covering the period from 2021 to 2025 suggests that a significant portion of these incidents occurred while the personnel were on duty. Out of 262 recorded cases during this timeframe, 202 occurred while the individuals were actively serving, while the remainder took place while the personnel were on leave. The report highlights these figures as part of a broader trend of mental health and stress-related challenges within the paramilitary force.
