According to reports from Dainik Bhaskar, heavy monsoon rainfall has severely disrupted daily life across the Delhi-NCR region and several northern Indian states. In the national capital, significant waterlogging on major thoroughfares led to prolonged traffic congestion, with reports of water levels reaching three to four feet in some areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the region, noting that rainfall in the first week of August has reached 127 millimeters, marking the highest levels recorded since 2011.

The impact of the weather system extends across Uttar Pradesh, where heavy rain was reported in approximately 70 cities. In districts such as Ghaziabad and Noida, urban infrastructure faced significant strain as roads became inundated, prompting local authorities in Bulandshahr to announce the closure of schools and colleges up to the 12th grade. The situation remains critical as local administrations work to manage the drainage of floodwaters from residential neighborhoods.

In Bihar, the situation is exacerbated by rising water levels in the Bagmati and Gandak rivers, fueled by heavy rainfall in neighboring Nepal. Reports indicate that approximately 300 homes in the Bagaha area have been submerged, necessitating the evacuation of residents to safer locations. The IMD has issued further warnings for ten districts in the state, citing risks of continued heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning strikes. Meanwhile, in Himachal Pradesh, the rising water levels of the Beas River have caused significant concern, impacting connectivity on key routes including the Chandigarh-Manali and Mandi-Pathankot highways.
