As part of this administrative exercise, authorities have received over 2.18 lakh applications from citizens seeking to add their names to the voter list. This process is a routine component of maintaining accurate and up-to-date electoral data ahead of upcoming democratic exercises.

The report further indicates that the revision process involves not only additions but also the systematic verification of existing entries. A significant number of names have been removed from the draft list following scrutiny, and officials are preparing to issue notices to more than 33 lakh voters. These notices are intended to verify the current residency and eligibility status of individuals currently on the rolls.
