E-commerce sales in Saudi Arabia surge 11.8% to SR37.6 billion in July

According to the latest monthly statistical bulletin issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), e-commerce activity in the Kingdom saw significant growth in July 2026. Sales conducted via Mada cards reached SR37.6 billion, representing an 11.8 percent increase compared to the SR33.6 billion recorded in June 2026. This performance also marks a substantial 26 percent rise on a year-on-year basis, up from SR29.8 billion in July 2025.

The SAMA report further detailed the broader economic trends for the second quarter of 2026. During this period, e-commerce sales via Mada cards totaled SR101.4 billion, reflecting a 3.1 percent increase over the first quarter of 2026. When compared to the same three-month period in 2025, the growth is even more pronounced, with a 32.3 percent increase from the SR76.6 billion reported in the second quarter of the previous year.

These figures highlight the ongoing digital transformation of the Saudi retail sector, as consumers increasingly shift toward electronic payment methods. The data serves as a key indicator of the Kingdom's evolving economic landscape, reflecting broader trends in consumer behavior and the expansion of the digital economy under the framework of national development goals.
