Egyptian, Cypriot Presidents Stress Need to Resolve Palestinian Issue, Reject Displacement

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his Cypriot counterpart, Nikos Christodoulides, held high-level discussions in Cairo on September 8 to address the ongoing regional instability. According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the two leaders focused heavily on the Palestinian issue, reaffirming their commitment to a two-state solution as the only viable path to lasting peace in the region.

During the meeting, both heads of state expressed strong opposition to any plans that would result in the displacement of Palestinians from their lands. The leaders emphasized that any resolution must strictly adhere to existing United Nations Security Council resolutions, which serve as the international legal framework for the conflict. The discussion underscored the growing concern among Mediterranean partners regarding the humanitarian impact of the current crisis.

Beyond the immediate conflict, the meeting served to bolster bilateral ties between Egypt and Cyprus.
