Heavy monsoon rainfall has triggered severe flooding and infrastructure damage across parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, according to reports from Dainik Bhaskar. In Madhya Pradesh, the intense weather has led to the collapse of a road in Sidhi that was reportedly constructed just six months ago at a cost of ₹104 crore. Further incidents include a submerged bridge in Narsinghpur and a search operation for a missing person in Satna after a group was swept away in a drain. In Panna, a dumper was reportedly carried away by an overflowing river.

In neighboring Uttar Pradesh, the situation remains critical as rising water levels in major rivers have impacted 19 districts. Authorities report that 92 villages have seen crop damage, with 26 villages becoming isolated due to the rising waters. Relief operations are currently underway, utilizing motor boats to deliver essential supplies to affected residents. In Prayagraj, the confluence of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers has submerged local ghats and riverfront areas.

In Varanasi, the impact is particularly visible as all 84 ghats are now underwater. The iconic Ganga Aarti, typically held at the Dashashwamedh Ghat, has been relocated to a rooftop due to the rising river levels. Additionally, the Varuna River has breached its banks, causing water to enter residential colonies. In Kanpur, the overflow of both the Ganga and Pandu rivers has resulted in significant flooding, with reports of water levels reaching four to six feet inside homes in low-lying areas. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation as weather conditions remain volatile.
