Guwahati: 3.64 Kg Suspected Ganja Seized at Railway Station, Man Held

According to Pratidin Time, a 31-year-old man was apprehended at the Guwahati Railway Station on Sunday, September 20, following the discovery of 3.64 kilograms of suspected cannabis in his possession. The arrest was carried out by personnel from the Crime Prevention and Detection Squad (CPDS) of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) during a routine surveillance operation.

The operation was part of an ongoing initiative by the RPF to curb drug trafficking, theft, and other illicit activities within the railway premises. Authorities have noted that such surveillance efforts are frequently conducted to maintain security for passengers and to prevent the transit of contraband through the regional rail network.

The suspect is currently in custody as officials continue their investigation into the origin and intended destination of the seized narcotics. Further legal proceedings are expected to follow in accordance with local anti-drug regulations.
