According to NTV Telugu, former Telangana minister and BRS leader Harish Rao was taken into police custody on Thursday following a protest in Hanamkonda. The incident occurred at the Hanamkonda Collectorate, where members of the Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers (TNGOs) union had gathered to demand the resolution of various employee grievances.

Harish Rao and other senior BRS leaders participated in the demonstration to show solidarity with the protesting employees, using the platform to criticize the current government's handling of labor issues. Following the conclusion of the protest, Rao attempted to travel toward a local polytechnic college when he was intercepted by police personnel.

Authorities subsequently detained the former minister and transported him to the Subedari Police Station in Hanamkonda. The detention follows a period of heightened political activity in the region as BRS leaders continue to challenge the administration on policy matters. There have been no reports of significant violence associated with the detention, and the situation remains under monitoring by local law enforcement.
