According to Asianet News, Kerala's Food and Civil Supplies Minister has convened an emergency meeting to address persistent technical failures affecting the state's e-POS (electronic Point of Sale) machines used in ration shops. The disruptions have reportedly led to the temporary closure of several outlets, causing concern among the public as the state prepares for the upcoming Onam festival season.

Preliminary assessments identified several root causes for the system instability, including network connectivity issues, the use of outdated routers, and storage capacity limitations within the existing hardware infrastructure. These technical bottlenecks have hindered the seamless distribution of essential commodities, prompting the government to intervene to ensure that supply chains remain operational during the high-demand festive period.

During the meeting, the Minister issued directives for both immediate and long-term corrective measures to stabilize the distribution network. Officials have been tasked with upgrading hardware and improving network reliability to prevent further service interruptions. The government aims to resolve these technical hurdles promptly to ensure that all beneficiaries can access their rations without further inconvenience.
