According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, family members of Delhi Police personnel and security staff held a press conference on Friday to address the aftermath of a recent protest at Jantar Mantar. The families expressed concern over the public narrative surrounding the event, asserting that the protest involved violent elements rather than peaceful student demonstrators. Relatives of the injured officers shared accounts of the physical toll taken on their family members during the incident.

Gunjan, the daughter of a sub-inspector, stated that her father returned home on the night of July 20 with his uniform bloodied, despite claims circulating on social media that portrayed the officers as the aggressors. Similarly, Seema, the wife of an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), alleged that individuals within the crowd utilized stones and weapons to attack security forces. Lakshya Singh Bisht, the son of an injured ASI, noted that his father sustained severe head injuries during the confrontation.

Reports indicate that over 148 police personnel were injured during the protest and subsequent march toward Parliament. The families emphasized that the situation had escalated beyond a student-led demonstration, claiming that antisocial elements had infiltrated the protest, leading to the violence. The press conference was intended to highlight the perspective of the security personnel who were on the front lines of the security deployment at the barricades.
