According to a report by Aaj Tak, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB) conducted a successful operation on the Swatantrata Senani Express. During a search of the train's AC First Class coach, authorities discovered approximately 75 liters of branded liquor being transported illegally.

Two individuals, identified as Neha Kumari from Samastipur and Ishan Kumar from Karnal, Haryana, were taken into custody in connection with the seizure. The suspects were traveling from New Delhi to Jaynagar when their luggage was inspected by officials. The contraband was reportedly recovered from two suitcases belonging to Neha Kumari.

Liquor smuggling remains a significant issue in Bihar, where the state government has maintained a strict prohibition policy for several years. Law enforcement agencies frequently conduct checks on long-distance trains to intercept the illegal transport of alcohol from neighboring states. The suspects are currently being processed by local authorities as the investigation into the source and intended destination of the seized liquor continues.
