According to the Gulf Times, NASA has announced a delay in the scheduled departure of the Crew-12 mission from the International Space Station (ISS). The return of the crew to Earth, originally planned for an earlier date, has been pushed back until Wednesday due to unfavorable weather conditions at the designated splashdown site.
NASA officials typically conduct a thorough review of meteorological data before authorizing the undocking of crewed spacecraft. High winds, sea states, and other atmospheric factors in the recovery zones are critical to ensuring the safety of the astronauts during their descent and subsequent retrieval from the ocean. This precautionary measure is a standard procedure for the agency to mitigate risks during the final phase of the mission.
The crew members currently aboard the station are expected to remain in orbit until conditions improve. NASA continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates on the revised timeline for the undocking and return flight. The delay does not impact the ongoing operations or the safety of the remaining personnel stationed at the orbital laboratory.
The story is reported by a credible regional outlet regarding a standard operational delay for the International Space Station. While not corroborated by the provided wire list, such logistical updates are common in space operations and the report is internally consistent.
