NEET SS Counselling Stalled for Five Months, FAIMA Urges Early Supreme Court Hearing

According to Times Now, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has formally requested an expedited hearing from the Supreme Court of India regarding the ongoing delays in NEET-SS counselling. The association is seeking a court date of July 28 to address the five-month stagnation in the admission process for super-specialty medical courses.

The delay has created significant uncertainty for thousands of qualified doctors across the country who have successfully cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Specialty (NEET-SS). These candidates are currently unable to secure admissions or proceed with their professional career paths, leading to growing frustration within the medical community.

FAIMA representatives argue that the prolonged wait is not only affecting the individual career trajectories of these medical professionals but is also impacting the availability of specialized medical services in hospitals that rely on these trainees. The association is urging the judiciary to intervene to clear the administrative hurdles that have stalled the process.

As of now, the Supreme Court has not issued a formal response to the request for an early hearing. The medical community continues to monitor the situation closely, as the delay enters its fifth month without a clear resolution from the relevant regulatory bodies.
