According to reports from TV9 Telugu, an alumnus of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) has pledged a significant donation of one crore rupees to support the institution's development. The donor, identified as Srinivas, is currently based in the United States and intends for the funds to be utilized for educational initiatives, research projects, and general institutional infrastructure improvements.

As part of the commitment, Srinivas has already transferred an initial installment of 25 lakh rupees to the institute's official account. The remaining balance of 75 lakh rupees is scheduled to be provided by the donor in December. The contribution is being viewed as a notable example of alumni engagement in the growth and academic advancement of the university.

While the institute has not yet released a formal statement regarding the specific allocation of these funds, such donations are frequently directed toward laboratory upgrades, student scholarships, or faculty research grants. The contribution highlights the ongoing connection between the institution and its global alumni network, particularly those working in international professional sectors.
