Rajwar water project approved in 2012 finally set for commissioning after Chowdry Ramzan's intervention, Sajad Lone failed to complete it: NC

According to a statement published by Greater Kashmir, Member of Parliament Chowdry Mohammad Ramzan has announced that the Lower Rajwar Raw Water Main project in Kupwara is nearing commissioning. Ramzan stated that the project, which was originally approved during his tenure as MLA for Handwara in 2012, has faced significant delays over the past decade.

In his statement, Ramzan criticized the current MLA for Handwara, Sajad Lone, alleging that the project remained in limbo despite Lone's time in office. Ramzan claimed that he had waited for the sitting MLA to complete the scheme following the 2014 and 2024 assembly elections, but eventually intervened to ensure the project's completion to address the drinking water crisis in the Lower Rajwar region.

The Lower Rajwar Raw Water Main project is intended to provide a stable water supply to local residents, a long-standing issue in the Kupwara district. While the project is now reportedly set for commissioning, the political discourse surrounding its delay highlights ongoing tensions between local political figures regarding the management of public infrastructure and development works in the region.
