Saudi Arabia recalls 264 BMW vehicles over braking system defect

According to the Saudi Gazette, the Saudi Ministry of Commerce has issued a formal recall for 264 BMW vehicles due to a technical defect in the Integrated Braking (IB) system. The ministry stated that the issue may interfere with electronic signals, potentially reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of accidents for drivers.

The recall encompasses a range of BMW models produced between 2022 and 2024, including the 7 Series, X7, XM, X6, X1, X2, and X5. Authorities have advised owners to verify their vehicle's status by checking the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the official Recalls.sa portal to determine if their specific unit is affected.

Owners of the impacted vehicles are encouraged to contact Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Co., the authorized BMW dealer in Saudi Arabia, at 8001238000. The company is required to provide the necessary inspections and repairs to the braking systems free of charge. This action is part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to ensure vehicle safety standards are maintained across the Kingdom.
