Saudi Border Guard foils attempt to smuggle 34 kg of hashish in Asir

According to the Saudi Gazette, Saudi Border Guard units have arrested four Ethiopian nationals in the Asir Region for an alleged attempt to smuggle 34 kilograms of hashish. The arrests took place within the Raboua Sector, where land patrols intercepted the individuals for violating the Kingdom's Border Security Law. The suspects were taken into custody following the discovery of the narcotic substances in their possession.

Authorities have stated that preliminary legal procedures have been completed, and the individuals, along with the seized contraband, have been referred to the competent judicial authorities for further processing. This incident is part of ongoing efforts by Saudi security forces to curb the trafficking of illicit substances across the Kingdom's borders. The Border Guard maintains a consistent presence in the Asir region to monitor and secure remote border areas.

In the wake of the operation, the Saudi Border Guard has reiterated its call for public cooperation in reporting suspicious activities related to drug trafficking. Officials have provided several channels for the public to submit information, including the 994 emergency line for the Border Guard and the 995 line for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control. The authorities emphasized that all reports are handled with strict confidentiality and that informants are protected from legal liability.
