Saudi Electronic University renamed Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman University

According to the Saudi Gazette, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has issued a directive to rename the Saudi Electronic University to Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman University. The decision follows a formal recommendation submitted by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, marking a significant change for the institution.

The renaming is intended to honor the late Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, a prominent statesman recognized for his long-standing contributions to the Kingdom’s development and the evolution of its national institutions. The move is framed by the leadership as part of a broader commitment to supporting the Saudi education system and fostering human development across the country.

Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan expressed his gratitude to the King and the Crown Prince for the directive. He noted that the new name serves to preserve the legacy of a national figure whose career was deeply intertwined with the growth of the Kingdom. The university, which has played a key role in the digital transformation of higher education in Saudi Arabia, will now carry the name of the late prince as it continues its academic mission.
