SOG Jammu arrests 3 alleged members of Khauf Gang from Delhi, main accused wanted in 13 FIRs

The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police has successfully apprehended three individuals identified as members of the 'Khauf' gang. The arrests were conducted in Delhi, following an investigation into the group's criminal activities in the Jammu region. Among those taken into custody is the gang's key operative, Karanjit Singh, also known as 'Gugga', a resident of Dablehar in the R.S. Pura tehsil.

According to official reports, Karanjit Singh is a primary suspect in at least 13 pending First Information Reports (FIRs). The charges against him include serious offenses such as murder, specifically in connection with the Gataroo case, as well as attempted murder, rioting, criminal intimidation, and the illegal possession of firearms. Authorities have been tracking his movements following his escape from the R.S. Pura Observation Home.

Police records indicate that during his previous escape, Singh allegedly assaulted duty personnel and engaged in gunfire within the facility. This incident led to the registration of FIR No. 39/2026 at the R.S. Pura police station. The arrest of these individuals is considered a significant development in local law enforcement's efforts to dismantle the gang's network and address the backlog of criminal cases associated with its members.
