According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, heavy monsoon rainfall across India has led to severe flooding and infrastructure damage in several states, resulting in multiple fatalities. In Uttar Pradesh, rising water levels in the Ganges have inundated 40 government schools and 33 villages in the Farrukhabad district, while the Saryu River has reportedly caused the collapse of 27 homes in Ballia over the past week. Additionally, flooding has affected numerous small temples in Varanasi.

Tragedy struck in Pratapgarh, where a 100-year-old house collapsed due to persistent rain, killing six members of a single family. The situation remains critical in Uttarakhand as well, where continuous downpours have forced the closure of schools and Anganwadi centers in districts including Dehradun, Chamoli, and Rudraprayag. Authorities reported that debris and water from a hillside blocked the Kedarnath Highway near Tilwara, trapping several vehicles in mud and rock.

Meanwhile, the flood situation in Assam continues to deteriorate. Officials indicate that six more deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll for the current monsoon season to 95. The Dhansiri River is currently flowing above the danger mark, prompting high alerts across 14 districts. Disaster management teams remain deployed in the affected regions to conduct rescue operations and provide relief to displaced residents as the monsoon season continues to impact large swaths of the country.
