According to Kanak News, police in Balasore, Odisha, engaged in an encounter with a wanted criminal identified as Lokesh. The incident occurred in the Simulia area, where officers reportedly attempted to apprehend the suspect during an operation. Authorities state that Lokesh attempted to evade arrest and opened fire on the police team, leading to a retaliatory exchange of fire in which he was wounded in the leg.

Lokesh, who has been sought by law enforcement for his alleged involvement in multiple robberies and extortion cases, was transported to a hospital in Bhadrak for medical treatment. While the primary suspect was injured and taken into custody, police reported that an accomplice managed to escape the scene during the confrontation.
