AI adoption more than doubles in Saudi Arabia, reaching 45.2% of internet users

According to the Saudi Gazette, the Kingdom has experienced a significant surge in the adoption of artificial intelligence tools among its population. Data from the fifth edition of the Saudi Internet Report, issued by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), indicates that 45.2 percent of internet users in Saudi Arabia now utilize AI tools, more than doubling the adoption rate recorded in the previous year.

The report highlights that this growth aligns with the Kingdom’s strategic initiative, the 'Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026.' Demographic analysis within the report reveals distinct usage patterns, with female internet users showing a higher adoption rate at 52.8 percent compared to 39.4 percent among males. Usage is most prevalent among younger demographics, particularly those aged 20 to 29, who reported a 55.7 percent adoption rate.

Regional data provided by the CST shows that AI integration is widespread across the country, with the Tabuk region leading at 58.5 percent, followed closely by the Eastern Province at 53.8 percent. The report also notes a clear trend regarding age, as AI tool usage declines progressively among older age groups, reaching 14.8 percent for those aged 60 to 74. These findings underscore the rapid digital transformation currently underway in Saudi Arabia as the nation continues to prioritize technological advancement.
