Airstrikes hit Houthi positions as Yemen government raises combat readiness

According to the Saudi Gazette, airstrikes were conducted against Houthi positions in Yemen's Marib and Al-Jawf provinces on Saturday. The Yemeni government, which is internationally recognized, has reportedly increased its military readiness in response to escalating battlefield tensions. State television reports indicate that the strikes successfully targeted Houthi reinforcements, including missile launchers, a Katyusha rocket-launching base, and various weapons depots. Several Houthi fighters, identified as missile specialists, were reported killed during the operation.

These military developments follow a period of heightened rhetoric from the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council. Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi recently accused the Houthi movement of prioritizing Iranian interests and warned the group against further regional escalation. In response to these maritime threats, the Saudi-led Coalition has previously announced proportionate military strikes against Houthi targets in Hodeidah.
