Arab countries, regional organizations condemn attempted attacks on Saudi oil facilities

According to the Saudi Gazette, multiple Arab nations and regional organizations have issued strong condemnations following attempted drone attacks targeting oil infrastructure in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province and the capital, Riyadh. These entities have reaffirmed their solidarity with the Kingdom, emphasizing support for measures taken to protect national security and regional stability.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Arab Parliament were among the primary organizations to denounce the incidents. GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi characterized the attempted UAV strikes as a flagrant violation of international law and a direct threat to the security of the region. Albudaiwi explicitly attributed the attempted attacks to Iran-backed militias operating out of Iraq, labeling the incident a dangerous escalation in regional hostilities.

This development follows a period of heightened tension in the Middle East, with verified reports indicating that Saudi Arabia and US forces have recently conducted joint strikes against Iran-backed militia positions.
