According to Kanak News, residents and farmers in the Bhadrak and Balasore districts of Odisha are facing renewed flood concerns following heavy rainfall. The rising water levels in the Salandi and Jalaka rivers have threatened areas that were already impacted by recent flooding, causing significant anxiety among local communities as they attempt to recover from previous damage.

Reports indicate that the water level of the Salandi River near Rajghat has reached 16.20 feet, approaching the danger mark of 17 feet. The surge has resulted in water flowing over the Rajmukundapur bridge in the Arnapal panchayat, with depths reportedly exceeding three feet. This infrastructure disruption has hindered movement and raised fears of further inundation in surrounding low-lying areas.

Local authorities have been monitoring the situation closely as the upper catchment areas continue to receive rainfall. The ongoing threat has complicated recovery efforts, with many residents still in the process of repairing homes or reinforcing embankments with sandbags.
