Coalition carries out proportionate strikes on Houthi military targets

According to the Saudi Gazette, the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Saturday that it conducted a series of targeted military strikes against Houthi militia positions in the Hodeidah Governorate. The operation was described as a proportionate response to recent Houthi attacks targeting commercial vessels navigating the Red Sea, which the Coalition characterized as a reckless threat to international maritime security.

Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki stated that the strikes were strictly limited to military infrastructure utilized by the militia to facilitate attacks on shipping lanes. He emphasized that the mission was executed in accordance with customary international humanitarian law and that all planned operational objectives were successfully met.

Addressing concerns regarding regional logistics and humanitarian access, Al-Maliki clarified that the port of Hodeidah was not a target of the operation. He confirmed that Hodeidah, along with the ports of Ras Isa and Salif, remain fully operational and continue to receive commercial vessels carrying essential supplies, including food, fuel, and construction materials.

This development follows a period of heightened tension in the region, with multiple reports confirming increased Houthi activity against Saudi infrastructure and international shipping. The Coalition maintains that these defensive measures are necessary to protect one of the world's most vital maritime corridors from ongoing threats.
