Death toll rises to seven in landslide in Mumbai’s Kurla due to heavy rain

According to Kalinga TV, a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in the Kurla area of Mumbai has resulted in seven fatalities. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday at the Gaushiya Chawl in Chirag Nagar, situated near Rathod Medical. Local authorities have confirmed that the victims include two children among the seven deceased.

Officials have identified some of the victims as Mohamad Samir Ansari, aged 14, and Sahil Husen Abdul Kazi, aged 19. Emergency response teams were deployed to the site to conduct search and rescue operations following the collapse of the structures in the chawl. The area has been prone to such incidents during the monsoon season, which frequently brings intense rainfall to the city.

Local authorities are currently managing the aftermath of the landslide, focusing on clearing debris and ensuring the safety of remaining residents in the vicinity.
