Dust-stirring winds, rain forecast across parts of Saudi Arabia

According to the Saudi Gazette, the National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather forecast predicting dust-stirring winds and potential precipitation across several regions of Saudi Arabia this Saturday. The advisory highlights that unsettled weather conditions are expected to impact the southern and western parts of the Kingdom, specifically affecting Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah. Residents in these areas are advised to prepare for potential rain and hail as the weather system moves through.

In addition to the precipitation forecast, the NCM noted that temperatures are expected to rise in parts of the Eastern Province. Maritime conditions are also being monitored closely; over the Red Sea, wind speeds are projected to range from 12 to 50 km/h, with wave heights expected to reach between 0.5 meters and over 2 meters, resulting in conditions ranging from calm to choppy.

For the Arabian Gulf, the NCM reports that northwesterly to westerly winds will affect the northern sectors at speeds of 15–35 km/h, while the central and southern parts of the Gulf will experience southeasterly to southwesterly winds at 10–25 km/h. Wave heights in the Arabian Gulf are forecast to remain between 0.5 and 1.5 meters. These forecasts are part of the NCM's routine monitoring of the Kingdom's diverse climate zones to ensure public safety and maritime navigation awareness.
